Fortis Hospital holds marathon on World Elders’ Day

The elderly and senior citizens of the city participated in marathon held by Fortis Hospital commemorating the World Elderly Day. Starting early morning, this marathon started from Libra Office on Dugri Road and culminated at Model Town.The Senior Citizens’ Association especially supported the event. Enthusiastic participants had started gathering for the event at 6 am itself. Having completed the registration formalities, the Senior Citizens’ Association office bearers flagged off the rally.More than 500 people participated in the event. The participants of event included doctors and staff members from Fortis Hospital and people associated with Senior Citizens’ Association.

The director of Fortis Hospital Ludhiaan Vivaan Gill said the event aimed at connecting with people with a social responsibility and bringing them at ease with the feeling of oneness. “There could not have been any better day than today, to reach out to our elderly population and make them feel younger. We want to tell them that Fortis Hospital is always ready at their beck and call,” he said.After event, winners were given prizes. In the senior citizen category Sardar Bakshish Singh was declared winner, VP DHawan was first runner up, while RN kapoor bagged the second runner up place. In youth category Harsh won the race, Ravinder Pal was first runner up and Gurjeet Singh was second runner up.
