Amid Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections, Shiromani Akali Dal today got a shot in the arm as State General Secretary of Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) Manjit Singh Kalanwali joined the party along with his supporters in the presence of party president and Punjab deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal here at his residence.This was said to be major boost to Shiromani Akali Dal candidate from Kalanwali constituency Balkaur sing Kalawali as Manjit Singh Kalanwali has strong mass base in the area. He joined the party along with his senior party leaders from Kalanwali including Ruldoo Singh Nambardar, Kalanwali constituency president, Rajinder Singh Kataria, urban president Kalanwali constituency, Hardev Singh, Block President Kalanwali, Amarjit Singh and Iqbal Singh, both zone Incharge.
Welcoming Manjit Singh Kalanwali and his supporters into party folds, Badal said that he would further strengthen the party in Haryana. He assured Mr. Kalanwali and his supporters that party would give them due place in the party. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal-Indian National Lok Dal alliance was enjoying support from all the sections of Hayana and he was confident that alliance would get clear majority in these elections.Describing his reasons to join Shiromani Akali Dal, Mr. Manjit Singh Kalanwali said that the senior leadership of HJC has completely ignored the grassroot leaders and workers of party. He said that they all were well aware of pro people policies of Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal led Shiromani Akali Dal that was why they decided to join the party to expend its base in Haryana.
