Continuing its efforts to provide meaningful mentorship and career guidance to the youth, the District Administration Bandipora today organised another edition of Nun Chai Talks at Waqar Knowledge Centre, featuring renowned physician, Dr. Parvaiz Sajad Shah, Senior Physician, as the guest speaker.

The programme witnessed participation of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib; BDO Aloosa, resource persons, students and youth, who interacted with the guest speaker during an inspiring and thought-provoking session focused on perseverance, education, values and purposeful living.

Sharing the story of his early life, Dr. Parvaiz Sajad Shah spoke about his humble beginnings and the challenges he overcame in his journey to becoming a doctor. He reflected on how perseverance, hard work and determination helped him realise his dream despite the obstacles he encountered along the way. He recalled joining Government Medical College, Srinagar, in 1989 and described his journey as the one shaped by determination, discipline and hard work.

During the interaction, Dr. Shah emphasised the pivotal role of parents and teachers in shaping an individual's future. He recalled a memorable incident from his school days when his teacher, Shams-u-Din, inspired him to work harder and strive for excellence. He also fondly remembered Mohd Yousuf Sofi of Onagam, whose encouragement ignited his determination to work towards a brighter future.

Urging students to remain focused on their aspirations, Dr. Shah advised them to listen to the guidance of parents, teachers and elders, whom he described as the torchbearers for the younger generation. He encouraged them to stay committed to their goals instead of getting influenced by the crowd and reminded them that success comes through consistent effort, patience and self-belief.

Highlighting the importance of social responsibility, Dr. Shah urged the younger generation to extend help to the downtrodden, protect the environment and actively contribute towards waste management for building a healthier and more sustainable society.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner shared valuable insights on maintaining a healthy work-life balance while pursuing professional excellence. She encouraged students to remain focused on their goals instead of following the crowd and advised them to choose careers that genuinely bring them happiness and satisfaction.

The Deputy Commissioner said that true fulfilment comes when one finds joy in one's work and creates opportunities to seek happiness through dedication and purpose. Quoting a famous thought, she remarked that one's dream should be so inspiring that it does not allow one to sleep, motivating the students to pursue their ambitions with unwavering commitment.

An interactive question-and-answer session was also held during which students sought guidance on career choices, motivation, success and personal development. Dr. Shah and the Deputy Commissioner responded to the queries with practical advice drawn from their personal and professional experiences.

The participants appreciated the session and described it as highly inspiring and enriching. They said the interaction motivated them to work hard, value the guidance of parents and teachers and remain committed to achieving their goals.

The District Administration Bandipora emphasized that the Nun Chai Talks initiative will continue to serve as a vibrant platform where distinguished achievers from different walks of life engage with young people, share their journeys and experiences, and encourage them to pursue their aspirations with confidence, purpose and determination.
