On the occasion of the completion of 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s service to the nation, the Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh organized a series of public outreach and awareness programs. Union Minister of State for Science & Technology and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh, participated as the Chief Guest and keynote speaker.
The day-long events highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat, cleanliness, environmental protection, and public participation.The programs commenced with a Tree Plantation Drive at Chandigarh Railway Station, where Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized environmental conservation and called upon citizens to strengthen the resolve of a Green India.
This was followed by the Pragati Path Yatra, which began from Chandigarh Railway Station and witnessed enthusiastic participation from BJP workers and citizens, spreading the message of a Developed India.Thereafter, a Cleanliness Drive was conducted at the Sector-26 Vegetable Market.
Dr. Jitendra Singh personally participated in the campaign and stated that Swachh Bharat is not merely a government initiative but a nationwide movement driven by public participation.A Special Outreach Programme was subsequently held at Green Market, Sector-26, where Dr. Jitendra Singh interacted with traders, shopkeepers, and local residents, listened to their suggestions, and shared information about various welfare schemes of the Central Government.
The main event on the theme “Viksit Bharat Sankalp” was held at NITTTR, Sector-26, Chandigarh, where Dr. Jitendra Singh addressed a large gathering. The event was attended by BJP Chandigarh President Jatinder Pal Malhotra, former BJP Chandigarh President and current Co-Incharge of Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Tandon, State General Secretaries Ramveer Bhatti and Sanjeev Rana, State Vice Presidents Indira Singh, Naresh Panchal, and Bharat Kumar, State Secretaries Manish Sharma and Meenakshi Thakur, along with senior party leaders and a large number of party workers.
In his address, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved historic milestones in development, governance, innovation, science and technology, infrastructure, national security, and public welfare over the last 12 years. He stated that the vision of Viksit Bharat is not merely a government objective but a shared national commitment of 1.4 billion Indians.
Highlighting the achievements of the Modi Government, he said that more than 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty, while over 40 million families have been provided permanent homes, ensuring dignity and security.
Through the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, healthcare coverage has reached 600 million citizens. Meanwhile, 30 million Lakhpati Didis are driving women’s empowerment, and over 570 million Mudra loans have fueled self-employment and entrepreneurship across the country.
Dr. Singh further stated that the construction of more than 120 million toilets has strengthened women’s dignity and safety. India has achieved a record ₹79 lakh crore in exports, while social security coverage has expanded more than threefold.
Reflecting the success of Atmanirbhar Bharat, India’s defence exports have reached a record ₹38,400 crore, showcasing the country’s growing strategic and manufacturing capabilities.He also highlighted that Vande Bharat trains and the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) are transforming connectivity across the nation.
Under the Digital India initiative, UPI transactions have increased 12,000 times, with digital transactions exceeding ₹314 lakh crore. Areas once affected by Left-Wing Extremism are now witnessing rapid development, with the Red Corridor transforming into a Green Growth Zone, symbolizing the changing face of New India.
Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is poised to emerge as a developed, self-reliant, and globally leading nation by 2047. He called upon every citizen to actively contribute towards realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The programs successfully highlighted the achievements of the Modi Government over the last 12 years in the areas of service, good governance, and welfare of the poor, while strengthening the collective resolve towards building a developed India.
