Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh said that dialogue is the strongest link between society, governance and public representatives. Through consultation and exchange of views, public welfare-oriented initiatives can be effectively implemented.
He stressed that consultation and collective deliberation are essential in the present times and added that only the power of education can help write a new chapter in the nation’s history. Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh was addressing the second session of the CPA India Region North Zone–II Conference organised by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.
The two-day conference was attended by Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Harvinder Kalyan, Deputy Speaker, Dr. Krishan Middha, along with Speakers, Deputy Speakers and legislators from several states. Highlighting the role of technology in nation-building, Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh said that in the digital age, information has emerged as a critical force driving social and economic development. Countries and institutions that have embraced technological advancement are leading the way globally.
While innovation is opening new avenues of progress, it is also presenting fresh challenges that require thoughtful solutions and collective action. Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he said India’s goal is to become economically strong, socially inclusive and technologically advanced.
Describing Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s Vision 2047 as more than a government initiative, Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh said it reflects the aspirations of 1.40 crore Indians. The objective, he said, is to build an India that is economically strong, socially prosperous and technologically advanced.
Quoting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh said that differences of opinion may exist, but people must rise above partisan politics and emotions and think solely in the national interest. He said India has every reason to take pride in its democratic journey and economic progress, while simultaneously working to create a more aware, vigilant and responsible society.
Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh also expressed concern over the growing menace of drug abuse, describing it as a serious social challenge that demands collective efforts. He stressed the need for sustained investment in education and social awareness to address such issues effectively.
Expressing confidence in the future role of women in public life, Sh. Harivansh Narayan Singh said that women will play a greater role in Parliament and State Legislatures in the years ahead. Their increased participation, he said, would accelerate progress within families, society and the nation. He said that strengthening environmental sustainability and generating employment opportunities would further reinforce democratic institutions and inclusive growth.
