Under its campaign “Aao Chalen Apni Virasat Ke Saath”, Haryana Tourism Corporation successfully organised Heritage and City Walk 2026 on May 30 across seven major heritage sites in the state. The initiative aimed to connect the younger generation and modern society with Haryana’s rich cultural, historical, and architectural heritage.

Through this special programme, participants got an opportunity to closely experience and understand the historical sites, traditions, monuments, and heritage assets that form an integral part of Haryana’s identity. During the walks, conducted under the guidance of experts, participants learned about the history, significance, and fascinating stories associated with various heritage locations.

Haryana Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma attended the Heritage Walk organised from Ethnic India, Rai to the Badkhalsa Memorial in Rai, Sonipat, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants on the occasion, he said that the preservation and promotion of the state's cultural and historical heritage are essential for future generations.

He added that such initiatives play a significant role in creating awareness among youth about their culture and history. A spokesperson of Haryana Tourism Corporation informed that Heritage and City Walks were also organised at Surajkund, Faridabad (from Surajkund Reservoir to Asola-Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary), Rewari (from Sandpiper Tourist Complex to Bada Talab), Pinjore, Panchkula (covering Gurudwara Manji Sahib, Dhara Mandal Pinjore, Natural Baoli, Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum, and Yadavindra Gardens), Morni Hills (including a special visit to the historic Morni Fort), Kurukshetra (Jyotisar pilgrimage site and Sarovar, Virat Swaroop, and Mahabharata Experience Centre Museum), and Ballabhgarh (from Raja Nahar Singh Palace to Rani Ki Chhatri).

Sh. Laxman Singh Yadav, MLA, attended the programme organised in Rewari as the Chief Guest. Students, local residents, tourists, heritage enthusiasts, and nature lovers participated enthusiastically in the event.

Participants explored various historical sites, learned about local traditions, and deepened their understanding and appreciation of Haryana’s rich cultural heritage. Through Heritage and City Walk 2026, Haryana Tourism has further reinforced its commitment to heritage conservation, cultural promotion, and sustainable tourism.

The initiative proved to be an effective platform for building a strong connection between the younger generation and the state’s invaluable heritage. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to all participants, local administrations, heritage experts, and other stakeholders whose cooperation contributed to the successful execution of this meaningful initiative.

It is noteworthy that Haryana Tourism Corporation had organised its first Heritage Walk on September 27, 2024, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, which received an encouraging response from the public. Building on that success, the second edition of Heritage and City Walk has now been successfully organised.
