Srinagar , 23 Sep 2014

As nature’s fury devastated Kashmir in September’s first week, it didn’t rain from the last 15 days and again the weathermen on Tuesday predicted dry weather for the coming days.According to the KNS correspondent, the state metrological department on Monday stated that weather will remain dry for the coming four days and that there is no warning being issued. The dry weather will not only help in carrying out the relief and rehabilitation operations across Kashmir including the worst hit flood areas in Srinagar but can also prove helpful for the state government to restore the vital road links and other places that are still inundated.

Indian Metrological Department (IMD) on Tuesday while issuing the weather forecast for next 24 HRS informed that weather will be mainly dry over Jammu and Kashmir.IMD maintained that in Srinagar the weather will mainly clear sky with maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 28°C and 12°C respectively. It maintained further that maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 33°C & 21°C respectively in Jammu region with overall dry weather. The department has also not issued the warning of any sort for the coming days in Jammu and Kashmir. What remains to be seen in the coming days is how the state government is going to tackle with the flood aftermath and how it would restore the services that had to remain suspended for almost 18 days.
