BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today carried out an intensive door-to-door campaign in support of the party's candidates in the Majitha area of Amritsar as part of the ongoing Municipal Corporation elections in Punjab. He interacted directly with local residents, urging them to elect BJP candidates with a massive mandate.
Tarun Chugh said that the AAP government has committed a grave betrayal of the people of Punjab. False promises were made in the name of electricity, water, roads, and sanitation, but today every city, every street, every neighbourhood presents a picture of neglect and decay.
A sacred and historic city like Amritsar too has fallen victim to AAP's irresponsibility and corruption. Tarun Chugh strongly condemned the misconduct of Punjab Police against Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Ganieve Kaur Majithia. He said that Punjab Vigilance Bureau officials illegally entered the official residence of an elected woman legislator without a warrant or any legal documents.
Belongings were thrown around, an ailing elderly woman present at home was intimidated, and the officials even refused to identify themselves. This is not merely a violation of law — it is a direct assault on the dignity of an elected representative and a woman.
Tarun Chugh further stated that the BJP is the only party that not only has a vision but also has the track record to translate it into reality on the ground. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has reached new heights of development, and it is our resolve to bring this model of progress to Amritsar and every city of Punjab.
The people of Majitha have made their decision, and this time they will reject AAP's politics of lies and its dictatorial conduct, and repose their trust in the BJP.
