District Traders’ Commission Holds Meeting with Phase-5 Market Traders and Shopkeepers to Address Their Issues

The District Traders’ Commission held a meeting with traders and shopkeepers of Phase-5 Market to understand and address the issues being faced by them. Chairing the meeting, Chairman of the District Traders’ Commission, Ranjit Pal Singh, assured the traders and shopkeepers that all issues raised during the interaction would be resolved within a period of 30 days.

He said that such meetings are being organized with the objective of strengthening and promoting trade by resolving problems being faced by traders at the local level. During the meeting, issues related to parking lines, drinking water supply, sewerage and augmentation of existing transformers were taken up and duly noted by the concerned departments present on the occasion. 

He further stated that the Punjab Government and the District Administration have already issued strict instructions to all departments to address public grievances on priority and within a stipulated time frame. Ranjit Pal Singh informed that around 21 feedback forms containing nearly 40 complaints were submitted by the participating traders and shopkeepers during the meeting. He added that the feedback mechanism had been introduced by the Punjab State Traders’ Commission to ensure that traders’ concerns are properly heard and effectively resolved.

Prominent among those present at the meeting were Chairperson of the District Planning Committee Prabhjot Kaur, DSP Gurcharan Singh, Vice Chairman of the District Traders’ Commission Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, Constituency Chairman Akvinder Singh Gosal, Chairman Market Committee Givinder Mittal, Assistant Commissioner, MC Mohali, Manpreet Singh, GST Inspector Gursher Singh, besides representatives of the market association and other officials.
