Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the progress of Mission YUVA and consider loan applications submitted under the scheme. At the outset, the Additional District Development Commissioner apprised the meeting of the status of recruitment for SBDU/BHD Coordinators and the engagement of external trainers.

He also presented an update on the number of cases sanctioned and disbursed under Mission YUVA so far. The DC directed concerned officers to expedite the recruitment process for vacant Coordinator posts to ensure effective implementation of the programme at the grassroots level.

He also emphasised increasing the number of external trainers to strengthen capacity-building initiatives for beneficiaries. To ensure that the selected applicants can commence their ventures without delay, the DC instructed Lead District Manager to accelerate the pace of sanctioning and disbursement of cases forthwith.

The DC further directed the Assistant Director Employment to conduct regular inspections of units established under Mission YUVA for output tracking, and to intensify awareness activities under Udyam Jagriti 4.0 across colleges and higher secondary institutions in the district.

During the meeting, the Committee undertook a detailed review of applications received under the scheme, assessing their eligibility, feasibility, and employment generation potential. Emphasis was laid on ensuring transparency, timely processing of cases, and extending necessary support to deserving youth with viable business proposals.

DC highlighted the importance of close coordination among departments and financial institutions for smooth implementation of the scheme. After thorough scrutiny, the Committee approved 324 cases, paving the way for beneficiaries to avail financial and institutional support under Mission YUVA.

Officials were directed to complete all necessary formalities at the earliest to facilitate prompt disbursement. The meeting also stressed the need to enhance awareness about the scheme to ensure wider participation of eligible youth through sustained outreach efforts.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad, General Manager District Industries Centre, Lead District Manager, Cluster Head J&K Bank, Assistant Director Employment, and Nodal Officer JKEDI besides other officers and officials.
