Transport Commissioner J&K; Vishesh Mahajan today chaired a meeting to review and strengthen the functioning of the Transport Department across the Union Territory. During the meeting; detailed discussions were held on intensifying enforcement drives; curbing traffic violations and improving public service delivery.

Emphasis was laid on ensuring strict adherence to traffic rules and enhancing accountability within the system. Transport Commissioner directed the concerned officers to launch a strong enforcement drive against traffic offenders. He stressed that strict action must be taken against those violating rules including suspension of Driving Licences and Registration Certificates (RCs); as per the provisions of law.

The Commissioner also emphasized effective implementation of PM RAAHAT scheme and timely disbursement of relief under road safety victim fund. He further underscored the need to strengthen public service delivery mechanisms to ensure efficient; transparent and citizen-friendly services across all transport offices. During the meeting all RTOs/ARTOs were present in the meeting.
