The Punjab Health Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani has instructed the Health Department to provide free facility of testing of Dengue and supportive treatment to the flood victims of the state.Presiding over a meeting of to review the possibility of outbreak of vector borne diseases due to floods in the State Health Minister directed all Civil Surgeons and Programme Officers of the Health department to provide free medicines to the patients in the flood affected areas. He also directed the Civil Surgeons to ensure free checkup & treatment medical camps in the affected areas. It was further directed that larvicides and insecticides be sprayed in the flood affected areas in order to prevent outbreak of vector borne diseases.Prominent others present in the meeting included Mrs. Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Hussan Lal, MD National Health Mission, Mr. Vikas Garg Special Secretary Health, Dr Jatinder Kaur Director Family Welfare and civil surgeons and programe officer of the Health Department.
