The Department of Posts commemorated the Platinum Jubilee of Postal Training Centre (PTC), Saharanpur, marking 75 years of excellence in training and institutional capacity building, with the release of a Commemorative Postage Stamp. The stamp was released by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, at Rang BhawanSabhagaar, AkashwaniBhawan, New Delhi.

The event was attended by senior officials including Shri Jitendra Gupta, Director General Postal Services, Shri Manish Sinha, Member (Finance), DCC, Ms. Vandana Gupta, CGCA and Col S. F. H. Rizvi, Member (HRD), along with other distinguished dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia described the occasion as a historic milestone, stating that the Postal Training Centre is not merely an institution but a place where history lives and continues to evolve. He noted that the celebration of 75 years reflects the Postal Training Centre’s enduring contribution to nation-building.

Highlighting the future vision, the Minister emphasized that India is steadily progressing towards becoming a logistics powerhouse, not only for the country but for the world by 2030. He underlined the critical role played by the Department of Posts and its workforce in achieving this ambition.

Established on 2nd April, 1951, the Postal Training Centre Saharanpur was set up to strengthen the administrative framework of independent India by introducing a structured and professional training system for postal personnel, replacing informal on-the-job training with a systematic institutional framework across its 56.71-acre campus.

Over the years, it has evolved into a premier training institution serving postal personnel across eight States and Union Territories in Northern India, and today stands equipped with 11 advanced computer laboratories and a specialized e-Studio, training nearly 3,000 employees annually while equipping them with skills in e-commerce logistics, digital operations, and financial inclusion, alongside instilling core values of discipline, reliability, and public service. The commemorative stamp is now available at Philatelic Bureaus across India and can also be purchased online at www.epostoffice.gov.in.
