New PGRS (Public Grievances Redressal System) Building and Mini Conference Hall inaugurated at Guntur District Police Office. Today, at the Guntur District Police Office, the newly constructed PGRS (Public Grievances Redressal System) building and Mini Conference Hall, built with the support of VIT-AP institutions at a cost of ₹47 lakhs, were inaugurated.

The foundation plaque was unveiled by VIT University Founder and Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan, under the supervision of District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Vakul Jindal, IPS. The buildings were formally inaugurated with ribbon-cutting amidst Vedic chants.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Superintendent of Police, Mr. Vakul Jindal, IPS said that Dr. G. Viswanathan is a highly experienced person in the field of education and has also served as a Member of Parliament in the past. Under his leadership, VIT institutions have been providing quality education to students across the country.

VIT-AP University in Amaravati is also rendering commendable services in the education sector. He appreciated VIT-AP University for constructing the PGRS building and Mini Conference Hall at the Guntur District Police Office as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The SP mentioned that although the State DGP Mr. Harish Gupta, IPS, was scheduled to attend the program, he could not do so due to his urgent visit to Markapur following a bus accident incident. He further stated that until now, complainants visiting the PGRS had to wait under tents or trees due to lack of proper facilities.

With the new building, they will now be able to submit their grievances to senior police officers in a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere. The Mini Conference Hall will be highly useful for conducting media briefings and providing comfortable seating arrangements for media representatives.

He extended special thanks to VIT Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan and the VIT-AP management for constructing these useful facilities for public service, and also thanked all those who attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, VIT Chancellor Dr. G. Viswanathan said that he has had a long-standing association with Andhra Pradesh, especially Guntur district, since 1967.

His association with the state began even before the establishment of the VIT-AP University campus in Amaravati. At the invitation of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who is committed to the development of Andhra Pradesh, VIT University decided to establish its presence in the state.

With his encouragement, VIT-AP University commenced operations in 2017 and currently has around 19,000 students. He noted that the people of Andhra Pradesh are hardworking and place great emphasis on education. Particularly in South India, parents invest significantly in their children’s education, and Andhra Pradesh stands out in this regard.

As a result, many students secure high-level jobs both in India and abroad. He emphasized that the primary goal of VIT is to provide quality education along with holistic training to ensure excellent employment opportunities.

Last year, around 14,000 students from VIT group of institutions secured jobs. Notably, a student from VIT-AP university received a job offer with a package of ₹96.26 lakh, which reflects the institution’s high standards of education. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve the public by providing this building to the Guntur District Police. Participants in the event included:

VIT-AP University Vice Chancellor Dr. P. Arulmozhivarman, Registrar Dr. Jagadish Chandra, Additional SPs Mr. G.V. Ramanamurthy (Admin) and Mr. A.
