Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary and State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should ensure the release of Punjab’s withheld funds during his visit to the state. Baltej Pannu was interacting with the media on the second day of a three-day camp organised at Greenfield Sant Enclave in Patiala for registration and issuance of cards under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna.

Addressing the media, AAP Punjab State General Secretary and Media In-charge Baltej Pannu said that under the leadership of Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government plans to issue health scheme cards to 65 lakh families across Punjab. “Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government plans to provide Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna cards to 65 lakh families in Punjab, and so far around 15 lakh people have already received these cards,” he stated.

The AAP Punjab State General Secretary said that if Union Home Minister Amit Shah has come to Punjab to hold a rally, he should also bring along the funds withheld by the Centre. “If the Union Home Minister has come to Punjab to hold a rally, he should also bring along the funds withheld by the Centre, including Punjab’s pending RDF and funds under other schemes,” Baltej Pannu said.

Baltej Pannu further stated that the Centre has consistently discriminated against Punjab. “The Central Government has repeatedly treated Punjab with a step-motherly attitude and discriminated against the state. On crucial issues such as Punjab’s rights over Chandigarh and matters related to Panjab University, the Centre has always kept Punjab entangled,” Baltej Pannu stated.

He appealed to the people of Punjab to raise these serious issues before Amit Shah and question him about them. Recalling the devastation caused by floods, Baltej Pannu said that the compensation announced by the Prime Minister has still not reached Punjab. “During the floods, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted an aerial survey of Punjab and announced ₹1,600 crore as compensation for the losses, but unfortunately that amount has still not been released to Punjab,” Baltej Pannu said.

Taking on opposition leaders, Baltej Pannu said, “Sukhpal Singh Khaira has lost his mental balance.” He added that during the tenure of the Akali Dal government, drugs and gangsterism had reached alarming levels in Punjab, which caused immense damage to the state.

“Today, under Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is removing the thorns sown by the Akali Dal and making efforts to restore Punjab to its vibrant glory as ‘Rangla Punjab’,” Baltej Pannu said. Baltej Pannu also highlighted the positive response from industry towards Punjab’s investment initiatives.

“The announcement of investment commitments worth ₹10,000 crore by leading industrialists on the very first day of the three-day Punjab Progressive Investors Summit-2026 in Mohali is a major achievement of the Mann Government and will further boost business activity in Punjab,” he stated.

Highlighting the welfare initiatives of the Punjab Government under the leadership of CMBhagwant Singh Mann, Baltej Pannu said that the AAP government is working day and night for the development of Punjab. “The AAP government is working day and night for the development of Punjab, particularly in the areas of employment, sports, education and healthcare. The present government is fully committed to strengthening Punjab’s economy and social security,” Baltej Pannu said.

On the occasion, Chairman of Improvement Trust Nabha Jassi Sohian Wala, Megh Chand Shermajra and Gurvinder Singh along with others were also present.
