Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat on Wednesday said that the Budget presented by the Punjab Government will ensure the welfare of every section of society and accelerate the overall development of the state. Speaking on the Budget in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, the Minister said the Budget has been prepared keeping in mind the interests of the common people, the poor and the labour class.

He said that the Budget, prepared under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann, reflects the government’s commitment to the all-round development of Punjab. Appreciating Finance Minister Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema for presenting the Budget, he added that it was presented on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8 and is dedicated to women while focusing on the welfare of all sections of society.

Mr. Bhagat said agriculture and horticulture sectors play a vital role in Punjab’s economy. He informed that for the first time, a project worth nearly ₹1300 crore has been approved for the development of the horticulture sector, which will significantly boost horticulture and enhance farmers’ income.

Highlighting the government’s initiatives, he said the Mann Government has introduced transformative reforms in the education and health sectors. Government schools have been upgraded into smart schools and students are being provided free books, uniforms and modern facilities.

He further said Mohalla Clinics have been established across the state to provide free and quality healthcare services, ensuring free medicines and medical consultation for the public. The Minister expressed confidence that the Budget will further strengthen Punjab’s development and bring positive changes in the lives of the people.
