Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today celebrated the festival of Holi with children with special needs at the local Red Cross Divyang School and Prayas School. On this occasion, he distributed fruits and water guns (pichkaris) among the children and shared the joy of the festival with them.

Dr. Aggarwal said that Holi is not merely a festival of colors but also a celebration of mutual love, unity and harmony. He called upon everyone to celebrate the festival together and make active efforts to further strengthen the bonds of brotherhood.

He added that while the festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil, the colors of Holi also convey the message of unity in diversity. Describing children with special needs as an integral part of society, the Deputy Commissioner said that these children are in no way less capable but are endowed with unique talent and courage.

He said that spending time with them brought him immense peace and satisfaction. On this occasion, Dr. Aggarwal also distributed fruits among the elderly residents of the Red Cross Old Age Home and interacted with them to inquire about their well-being.

He also extended his wishes for peace, happiness and prosperity to the residents of the district on the auspicious occasion of the festival. During the event, students of the Red Cross Divyang School also presented a cultural programme. Secretary, District Red Cross Society, Surjit Lal, was also present on the occasion.
