Department of Social Welfare (SWD) Srinagar successfully organized an assessment program for vocational trainees at the PRAYAS Training Centre under the bannerof SANKALP–Hub for Empowerment of Women (Mission Shakti).

The assessment marked the successful completion of a structured six-month vocational training course in Cutting and Tailoring, aimed at equipping women with practical skills and enhancing opportunities for self-employment and financial independence.

A total of 30 trainees appeared for the assessment, which evaluated both theoretical understanding and practical competencies acquired during the training period. The evaluation covered fabric cutting techniques, garment construction, measurement accuracy, stitching quality, finishing standards, and overall design presentation.

The Evaluation Committee conducted the assessment in accordance with industry standards, focusing on the trainees’ technical proficiency and practical capabilities. The assessor commended the participants for their creativity, precision, and confidence in handling sewing equipment and garment construction processes.

On the occasion, the District Mission Coordinator, SANKALP–HEW, Srinagar congratulated the trainees on successfully completing the course and encouraged them to utilize their newly acquired skills for income generation, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

She reiterated the department’s continued commitment to promoting skill-based education and women empowerment through vocational initiatives. The event concluded with an interactive session where trainees shared their learning experiences and future aspirations. 

The department reaffirmed its resolve to continue organizing such vocational training programmes to promote skill development, financial inclusion, and holistic empowerment of women across the district.
