District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today visited the historic Mangla Mata Temple at Bhawani in Nowshera and chaired an on-site meeting to chart a comprehensive plan for beautification and integrated development of the area, recently included under the Vibrant Village Programme.
The DDC directed concerned departments to prepare a development roadmap for the 36 kanals of land surrounding the shrine and conduct a gap analysis to identify infrastructure and service deficiencies. He emphasised development of the area as a model religious and border tourism hub.
He stressed the need for essential tourist facilities including toilets, drinking water points, parking, pathways, lighting, signage, landscaping and homestays. Highlighting the potential of the area, the DDC noted that the presence of Mangla Mata Temple, Shah Lakh Ziyarat and Ram Mandir within the same cluster offers an opportunity to promote religious and border tourism and generate livelihoods.
He directed Tourism, RDD, PWD, Jal Shakti, PDD and other departments to submit a time-bound, holistic development proposal. ADC Nowshera, Pritam Lal Thapa, Tehsildar Nowshera, Rampaul and other officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
