Six policemen, including a station house officer (SHO) of a police station in Haryana, have been booked for the death of a youth in police custody, officials said Thursday.Sohna SHO Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ashok Kumar, ASI Dinesh Kumar and two other policemen have been booked on charges of murder and common intent under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.Besides the police officers, traders Subhash Bansal, Deepak Bansal, Dinesh Bansal and some other people have also been booked for hatching a criminal conspiracy."All the accused policemen and Sohna Crime Branch chief Arun Kumar were sent to police lines as punishment and the case has been handed over to Crime Branch for further investigation," Joint Commissioner of Police Vivek Sharma told IANS.

Wasim, around 25 years old and a resident of Chilli village in Palwal district of Haryana, was Wednesday found hanging in the lockup of Sohna police station, some 26 km from Gurgaon.Police claimed that Wasim committed suicide after he was arrested for allegedly trying to abduct the 11-year-old son of Deepak Bansal from a private school. The family members of Wasim Wednesday recorded their statements before a magistrate, and said Wasim had worked at a milk plant of the Bansal family and had gone to Sohna to collect his salary.Wasim allegedly wrote on the police lockup wall that he was innocent and was being implicated by BJP leader Subhash Bansal. He also wrote that he was tortured by police. The body was Thursday sent to PGIMS Rohtak for re-postmortem, after doctors here Wednesday said there were no external injury marks on the man' body. However, the deceased's family members were not satisfied and asked for a post-mortem examination again.
