School of Eminence emerges victorious in the grand finale match of Jalandhar Premier League

Under the Punjab Government’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiative, the grand finale match of the Jalandhar Premier League-2025, being organized by Vasal Education with the support of the Jalandhar administration, was played today at the local I.V. World School between School of Eminence, Ladowali Road, and Government Senior Secondary School, Lamma Pind wherein School of Eminence, Ladowali Road, emerged victorious.

On the occasion, Punjab’s Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat, who attended the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making continuous efforts to keep youth away from drugs and encourage them towards a healthy lifestyle. 

He said that to connect youth with sports and promote a sports culture in the state, the government is strengthening sports infrastructure and has also increased prize money for players who bring laurels to the state at national and international levels. 

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Advisor, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department and Vice President of the Punjab Cricket Association, Deepak Bali, were also present on the occasion.He said that the presence of two government schools in the final match proves that the Punjab Government is not only providing quality education to students in government schools but also ensuring a suitable environment and facilities for sports.

The Cabinet Minister encouraged the youth to actively participate in at least one sport, stating that sports not only keep the body fit but also instill teamwork, discipline and a sense of responsibility in life. He urged them to participate enthusiastically in sports to bring glory to the state at national and international levels.

Appreciating the Jalandhar Premier League initiative, Mr. Bhagat said that the league has provided an excellent platform for emerging players to showcase their talent and has filled young players with new energy and enthusiasm.

At the end of the match, the Cabinet Minister and other guests honoured the Man of the Match, Man of the Series, Best Batsman and Best Bowler of the tournament, besides felicitating the winning team of School of Eminence, Ladowali Road.Earlier, Rajya Sabha Member Ashok Kumar Mittal inaugurated the grand finale match. AAP leader Nitin Kohli was also present on the occasion.

It is noteworthy that under the Jalandhar Premier League, teams from 16 schools participated in the cricket tournament. The final match held today between School of Eminence, Ladowali Road, and Government Senior Secondary School, Lamma Pind witnessed an exciting sportsmanship, with both teams displaying excellent performance and discipline.
