With a firm commitment to take governance to the doorsteps of the people, the District Administration Ramban today organized a grand public outreach programme at Chanderkote on the culmination of Good Governance Week–2025, also known as ‘Sushasan Saptah’.

The week-long initiative was observed to honour former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and to promote transparent, accountable and citizen-centric governance under the flagship campaign “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”.

At the outset, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shoket Hayat Mattoo, Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, Assistant Commissioner Development, Seheaz Ahmed, other senior officers, officials and prominent citizens paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary, recalling his immense contribution to democratic values and good governance.

The District Administration also virtually joined the Sansad Khel Mahotsav, which was addressed by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, emphasizing the importance of sports, youth participation and nation-building through inclusive initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that during Good Governance Week–2025, extensive outreach programmes were organized across all blocks of the district including Ramban, Batote, Rajgarh, Ukhral, Khari, Ramsoo, Banihal, Gandhri, Sangaldan, Gundi-Dharam and Gool besides 24 far-flung panchayats in the district.

He stated that senior officers and officials actively participated in these programmes and resolved a large number of public grievances on the spot, in line with the district administration’s directions to ensure timely and effective service delivery.

The Deputy Commissioner further added that public outreach and grievance redressal camps are a regular feature of the district administration, with special focus on far-flung and remote areas to ensure that no citizen is left unattended. Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner highlighted that a significant number of grievances related to public welfare were successfully addressed during the Good Governance Week.

He urged the people to actively participate in such grievance redressal camps to strengthen the bridge between the administration and the public. A Nukkad Natak on Nasha Mukt Bharat, presented by Abhinaya Kala Manch, left a strong impact on the audience, particularly the youth, inspiring them to contribute towards building a drug-free society.

On the occasion, the District Administration also felicitated outstanding sportspersons of the district who have brought laurels by performing at panchayat, block and district levels, encouraging youth to pursue sports and healthy lifestyles.
