The Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme was successfully organised last week at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, with the aim of connecting youth to the vision of a developed India and motivating them to actively participate in nation-building initiatives. The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Raghavendra P. Tiwari, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CU Punjab, and supervised by Prof. Deepak Kumar Chauhan, Programme Coordinator, NSS Cell, CUPB.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Sameer Mahajan, Programme Officer, NSS Unit-III, while logistical support was efficiently overseen by Mr. Sukhnaib Singh, DEO, NSS Cell. The session began with a welcome and an introductory address focusing on the importance of youth in shaping the nation’s future and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Ms. Sakshi Sharma, Youth Icon, delivered a thought-provoking PPT presentation on the theme, highlighting the critical role of young citizens in sustainable development, innovation, leadership and social responsibility. The programme was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests — Sh. Pratham Singh, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Delhi and Sh. Lalit Dogra, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Chandigarh — who addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on government policies, youth initiatives and avenues for young minds to contribute meaningfully to national growth.

Around 100 NSS volunteers and students, along with faculty members and other attendees, participated enthusiastically in the event. The interactive discussions strengthened awareness about youth responsibilities and inspired participants to take proactive steps in community service and national development activities.

The programme concluded on an inspiring note, successfully motivating young students to align their aspirations with the national vision of building a progressive, self-reliant and developed India.
