Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the new building of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Raipur, marking a significant milestone in the state's democratic journey. The inauguration ceremony coincided with the 25th anniversary of the state's formation.

Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla attended the ceremony and congratulated the people of Chhattisgarh, emphasizing that legislatures are institutions of trust that embody the faith and aspirations of citizens. He noted that the quality of discussions and deliberations within these institutions determines the strength of democracy and the success of governance.

Shri Birla expressed confidence that the new Assembly building would promote inclusive development and good governance in the State, contributing to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat. He highlighted that the inauguration of the new building reflects the Union Government's commitment to strengthening democratic institutions across the nation.

The new Assembly complex is designed with modern architecture and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced digital infrastructure. Shri Birla observed that this would empower legislators to address the aspirations of the people and contribute more effectively to policymaking and public welfare.

Shri Birla praised the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly for upholding high traditions of dignity, dialogue, and democratic practice. He expressed hope that these traditions would be further strengthened in the new building, which would become a vibrant center of democratic ideals and inspire public representatives to work with dedication.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Members of Parliament, Ministers, legislators, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
