The last day of the Delhi Book Fair was the most crowded day out of the entire nine day event. The storm and the weather did not stop the literary-enthusiasts from attending the last day of the fair. The Indian Trade Promotion Organization organized a valedictory function and award ceremony today. The award ceremony was for the best stalls of the fair. Mrs. Rita Menon, Chairperson and Managing Director of Indian Trade Promotion Organization was the guest of honour. Amar Nath, Vice President of F.I.P. welcomed the gathering. He spoke about the welfare of the publishing industry and also extended his gratitude towards the success of the 20th edition of the Delhi Book Fair. The Executive Director of I.T.P.O, Malay Srivastava was present at the function too. Srivastava mentioned that he was very pleased with the new additions of the fair that were introduced this year. The mobile app and the online ticketing system was a success. He also suggested that the university students should be the focus for the next event.

Srivastava also initiated that road shows should be organized in various college campuses to grab the attention of the youth. The award ceremony had three categories each for the book fair and the stationery fair. These categories were pided as Hindi, English and Regional languages/Government stalls. The awards were given out with the positions of gold, silver and bronze. “Federation of Indian Publishers have indeed flourished in their endeavours. Even though the weather played spoiled-sport; there is a large number of visitors that came to the fair this year. It was a well-rounded effort and I hope the durable relationship of F.I.P. and I.T.P.O sustains- as it has since the last two decades,” said Mrs. Rita Menon, Chairperson and Managing Director. The 21st edition of the Delhi Book Fair 2015 will start from August 29th, 2015 till 7th September, 2015.
