Haryana’s Minister for Industries & Commerce and Environment, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said following the call of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, every citizen should celebrate this Diwali with the pledge of “Vocal for Local” by lighting indigenous earthen lamps. 

He said every rupee spent on Indian products will not only strengthen the nation’s economy but also contribute to employment generation and the realization of the vision of an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.Rao Narbir Singh was addressing the 9th Mission Maati Deep Mahotsav organized by the Prajapati Kumbhkar Sangh at Farrukhnagar in Gurugram district as the chief guest. 

During the event, a collective lighting of 5,151 lamps was carried out in the community centre premises. On this occasion, the Cabinet Minister also laid the foundation stones of the Farrukhnagar Municipal Office and Library Building.In his address, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vocal for Local – Local for Global” is receiving tremendous support across the country. 

It is the moral responsibility of every citizen to prioritize indigenous products in the national interest and reduce dependence on foreign goods. Appreciating the Prajapati community, he said, “The Prajapati community is a living symbol of our traditions, culture, and indigenous identity. 

The earthen lamps crafted by them not only illuminate homes but also convey the message of Indian art and craftsmanship.”Rao Narbir Singh appealed to the people to celebrate a plastic-free Diwali this year. He said, “Let us shun the use of plastic and contribute to environmental protection by using clay lamps, cloth bags and natural decorations.”
