Demanding the truth behind the thousands of enforced disappearance cases in Kashmir and people buried in unmarked graves should be publicize, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has appealed international community and International human rights organizations to exert pressure on India so that we know the fate of victims subjected to disappearances and are buried in unknown graves.According to a statement issued to KNS, expressing solidarity with families of the victims of disappeared on the International day for the enforced disappearance; Mirwaiz stated that since past 25 years Kashmiris have offered matchless sacrifices of their lives and property for the sacred cause of freedom struggle. He stated that sacrifices were the priceless asset with the Kashmiri nation. Mirwaiz stated that so far more than a lakh people have sacrificed their lives while over 10, 000 people have been subjected to the enforced disappearance. Besides, he stated that over 8000 unmarked graves are testimony to the brutal Indian suppression on Kashmiris demanding freedom from the occupation. APHC Chairman stated that the relatives of the victims of enforced disappearances were still waiting for the return of their dear ones. (KNS)
