Independent legislator Engineer Rashid on Saturday while speaking at the concluding session of the legislative assembly said that both national conference and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) must join hands for the political stability of Jammu and Kashmir.According to the KNS correspondent, Rashid while thanking his other house members on the last day of the last session stated that political stability is must for the Kashmir resolution and for same NC and PDP must join hands for the greater common good. “Let we accept that people are with you. I accepted my defeat in polls as I got 22 thousand votes. You got in lakhs, why you don’t join hands so that political stability could prevail over the perturbed land of Kashmir,” Rashid said.
He maintained further that for resolving Kashmir, there must be conducive atmosphere and both NC and PDP must unite so that in unison we could present our case before New Delhi and they have to accept the demand of the people. “Omar Sahib you extend your hand so that people come to know you want good days for the people of the state. Let they (PDP) reject it but the people would know that you atleast had offered them your hand.”He added that Geelani sahib also wants Kashmir settlement and until talks are not held with UJC chief Syed Sallah-ud-din and Huriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Kashmir issue will never get resolved. Later, the PDP legislator Javed Mustafa Mir stood from his chair and stated that government must talk to Mohammad Yousuf Shah and not to Syed Sallah-ud-din. Meanwhile, Omar in a veiled attack against Rashid said in his concluding address that Rashid claimed he didn’t drag politics in his present lecture but he did. However, Omar didn’t comment anything on Rashid’s suggestions. (KNS).
