Punjab Government, under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is committed to ensuring holistic development and strengthening rural-urban connectivity across the state. This was stated by MLA Kulwant Singh while inaugurating the construction of several new road projects in the Mohali constituency.

Sharing details, the MLA informed that the Chachumajra–Bakarpur–Jhungian Road, having a length of 1.75 kilometres and width of 10 feet, was last repaired in 2015. It will now be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 39 lakh, out of which Rs 31 lakh will be spent on construction and the remaining amount earmarked for five-year maintenance. The road will be built as a bituminous surface and completed within six months.

Similarly, the Jagatpura–Kandala–Nandiali–Safipur–Bakarpur Road, measuring 2.97 kilometres, will be upgraded at a cost of Rs 95 lakh, including Rs 82 lakh for construction and Rs 13 lakh for five-year maintenance. Nearly one kilometre of this road will be 18 feet wide, while the remaining stretch will be 10 feet wide.

About half a kilometre of the stretch will be constructed using 80 MM paver blocks, with the remaining portion built as a bituminous road. This project too is targeted for completion within six months.

He added that the Jheurheri–Alipur Road, spanning 1.10 kilometres with a 10-foot width, and last repaired in 2016, will be reconstructed with 80 MM paver blocks at a total cost of Rs 45 lakh. This project is also expected to be completed within six months.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann Government has remained steadfast in fulfilling every commitment made to the people — be it providing 300 units of free electricity to households, setting up Aam Aadmi Clinics offering free medicines and lab tests to lakhs of citizens every day, or carrying out large-scale infrastructure upgrades across Punjab.

He further informed that a major project worth Rs 728 crore is currently underway for the modernization of the power supply network in Mohali, which will ensure uninterrupted and high-quality power supply for years to come. Reaffirming the government’s vision, the MLA said that the Punjab Government is fully dedicated to transparent governance, robust infrastructure, and welfare-oriented policies aimed at enhancing the quality of life of every citizen.
