In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure, two 500 KVA fully automatic generators have been commissioned at Government Medical College & Associated Hospital (GMC&AH) Rajouri to make possible round the clock power.

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma inspected the newly Commissioned facility today. The generators, installed on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner under the supervision of JPDCL Rajouri in record time, will ensure uninterrupted power supply to the hospital during outages or natural calamities.

Pertinently, the load capacity of one genset is between 420–450 KVA, while that of the other is between 350–430 KVA, thereby ensuring an adequate backup for hospital operations. As the blackouts in the past used to affect patient care, the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Secretary, during their recent visit to the district, had specifically directed GMC for the installation of gensets to ensure reliable power backup.

The commissioning of these gensets is in line with those directions. With this crucial augmentation, GMC Rajouri is now better equipped to function round the clock without interruptions, ensuring seamless medical services to the people of Rajouri and adjoining districts.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that reliable electricity is vital for operating life-saving equipment and enabling timely interventions during emergencies. He reiterated the commitment of the District Administration to continuously upgrade healthcare infrastructure at GMC&AH Rajouri to meet the needs of the public.

ExEn JPDCL Rajouri, Medical Superintendent Dr. Javaid Iqbal, Deputy and other staff members of the institution were present on the occasion.
