National Semiconductor Technology Symposium 2025 Kicks Off at VIT-AP University, Driving India’s Vision for Indigenous Innovation and Industry-Academia Collaboration

The inaugural day of the National Semiconductor Technology Symposium (NSTS) 2025 commenced today at VIT-AP University, Amaravati. The three-day symposium, running from September 11 to 13, is a joint initiative by VIT-AP University and Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd.  The event is proudly supported by DST – Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), VVDN Technologies,IEEE VIT-AP Student Branch, and the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). 

The event aims to accelerate India's semiconductor journey by focusing on indigenous innovation, skill development, and industry-academia collaboration. NSTS 2025 convened thought leaders from academia, industry, and government to unlock transformative opportunities across the semiconductor value chain. 

The symposium serves as a dynamic platform to explore emerging technologies, foster strategic partnerships, and showcase India-centric innovations under the theme: “Harnessing Semiconductor Frontiers through India-Centric Innovation.”

The symposium has brought together a diverse group of 400+ participants, with over 20 industry representatives from leading global and national companies participating, that includes AMD, Altera, Ansys, ARM, BEL, CII, Cyient Semiconductors, GSAS, HCL Technologies, Kyosan, ITAAP, MicroChip, NXP, PTC, Phillips, STARC, Siemens, Silicon Labs, Silicon Systems, and WnP Technologies. This is the first-of-its-kind event in the region, bringing together a remarkable congregation of experts from the semiconductor technology and application domains. Truly, a proud moment for the region’s tech ecosystem."

The event features a comprehensive agenda with 12 expert talks and two panel discussions covering topics from open chip design and edge computing to mobility, healthcare, and indigenous innovation. Three workshops are also being held, organized by Entuple Technologies, on topics such as Physical Design using Cadence, Embedded Development using Keil MDK ARM, and FPGA Programming by Altera.

On the inaugural day, VIT-AP University marked a major milestone by signing strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with three pioneering companies—VLSIPRO Technologies, Inventiz, and WnP Semicon LLP. The MoUs reflect a shared commitment to advancing research, industry-academia synergy, and skill development in cutting-edge domains. 

Prof. K. Madhumurthy, Hon’ble Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) said, as we stand at the cusp of a technological revolution, our government's focused efforts to build a resilient semiconductor ecosystem are laying the foundation for India’s leadership in next-generation technologies. 

From smartphones to AI-powered devices, semiconductors are the silent engines driving innovation. This symposium is not just a gathering of minds—it is a testament to Andhra Pradesh Government commitment to harnessing semiconductor frontiers through India-centric innovation, strategic collaboration, and a future-ready infrastructure.

Sri Narendra K. Saranam, Vice Chairman, CII–AP and Executive Director, Apex Solutions pointed out that the National Symposium on Semiconductor Technology at VIT-AP University—a timely and vital initiative as India accelerates its journey towards becoming a global semiconductor hub. With the government’s strategic push to develop robust infrastructure and policy frameworks, events like these play a critical role in shaping the dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers. 

As semiconductors power everything from smartphones to AI-driven innovations, this symposium stands as a beacon for fostering India-centric innovation and unlocking the vast potential of our nation’s technological frontiers.” Sri Indrajit Anne, President, iTAAP and CEO, Inventiz said that this national-level event aims to bring together leading academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students from across the country to deliberate on the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in semiconductor technology—a sector pivotal to India's technological and industrial growth.

Prof. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Vice Chancellor of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education,Dr.Ameet Chavan – Director IIEC ,Dr.Umakanta Nanda – Dean School of Electronic Engineering (SENSE) of VIT-AP, Mr Saravanan Jayaraman, Chief Manager Siemens were also present on the occasion.
