VIT-AP University celebrated its 8th University Day with great zeal and ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Sri Kona Sasidhar, Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, who served as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Thirunavukkarasu Palaniappan, Group Head – Nextgen Talent, Wipro Limited, Chennai, as the Guest of Honour.

The celebrations highlighted the university’s remarkable journey and achievements over the past year, setting the tone for future advancements. In a symbolic gesture, Sri Kona Sasidhar, Mr. Thirunavukkarasu Palaniappanand Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT,Sri Sankar Viswanathan – Vice President  of VIT jointly unveiled the University’s Annual Report, outlining key milestones and strategic goals.

In his address, Sri Kona Sasidhar commended VIT-AP’s continued efforts to provide quality education and nurture future-ready graduates. "In a world being reshaped by technology at an unprecedented pace, it is essential to be future-ready—not just with tools, but with technology and mindset. Remember, rejection is only redirection; every failure is feedback guiding your growth.

Even unicorns—the most successful ventures—failed first and learned fast. The real challenge today is not just knowledge, but focus. In an age of distractions, self-discipline becomes your greatest strength. And above all, let ethics and integrity be your constant compass—they will outlast any trend and outshine any achievement.

Mr. Thirunavukkarasu Palaniappan, during his keynote, emphasized the role of academic institutions like VIT-AP in bridging industry-academia gaps and fostering a culture of innovation among youth. "In just eight remarkable years, VIT-AP has grown into a vibrant academic community of 19,000 students—an extraordinary achievement that reflects vision, leadership, and unwavering dedication.

Witnessing 100% attendance is truly commendable; it speaks volumes about their discipline, commitment, and pride in being part of this university. To the faculty and staff who have nurtured this growth—your contribution is the foundation of this success.

Dr. G. Viswanathan, Chancellor of VIT, said that “With a vision to host 50,000 students at VIT-AP, we align with our Hon'ble Chief Minister’s mission to make Andhra Pradesh the No.1 state in the country. As responsible educators, it is our duty to support this visionary goal. As our Prime Minister envisions ‘Viksit Bharat 2047,’ it is only through equitable and quality education that such a future is possible.

While developed nations boast a GER of over 60%, India stands at 27%—we must do more. The NEP envisions 6% of GDP for education by 2047, yet today we allocate only 2.5% in the present budget . We must ensure that access and opportunity of higher education reach every learner. VIT remains committed to that mission."

Dr. S.V. Kota Reddy, Vice Chancellor of VIT-AP University, presented a comprehensive overview of the annual report, highlighting key achievements in academics, research, infrastructure, and student development.
