3 day training for Internal Assessors-cum-Service Providers under NQAS begins at IMPA Srinagar

A three-day training programme for Internal Assessors-cum-Service Providers (IA cum SPT) under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) commenced today at the Institute of Management & Public Administration (IMPA), Srinagar.

The training will continue until July 23, 2025, and is being conducted by the National Health Mission (NHM), J&K, in partnership with the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

The inaugural session was inaugurated by Baseer ul Haq Chaudhary, Mission Director, NHM J&K, in presence of Dr. Bakshi Jehangir, Director Health Services Kashmir. Dr. Vineeta Dhankhar, Consultant, Quality Promotion and Standards (QPS) Division, NHSRC, MoH&FW is the chief resource person for the training.

The inaugural session was also attended by senior officials from the Directorate of Health Services and the National Health Mission, J&K. On the occasion, Mission Director, NHM, J&K commended the dedication of the district and block teams towards achieving high-quality standards in public health facilities. 

He underscored the critical importance of maintaining and enhancing the quality of healthcare services being offered to the people. This capacity-building programme has been designed to equip healthcare professionals with the necessary skills to conduct internal assessments and improve service delivery standards across J&K’s health institutions.

Participants included Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Block Medical Officers (BMOs), Medical Officers (MOs) and Programme Management Staff from every district and block in the Kashmir Division All the participants will undergo a post-training evaluation and the successful candidates will be awarded the Certificate of Internal Assessor.

Certified assessors will drive quality monitoring and service enhancement across their respective districts. Their work will advance the Government of India’s aim to strengthen the public health system and achieve quality certification for public health facilities.

This training underscores the steadfast commitment of the National Health Mission and the Health and Medical Education Department, Government of J&K, towards institutionalizing quality assurance and ensuring continuous improvements in healthcare delivery throughout the Union Territory.
