Forty percent news reports published in newspapers today are bogus, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the Goa assembly Wednesday.Parrikar told the ongoing monsoon session of the Goa assembly that media reporting standards had slipped considerably, even reading out a list of news reports, which he claimed eventually turned out to be "bogus"."Ten years ago, 80 percent stories used to be right," he said."Today, 40 percent (news reports) are true, 20 percent are borderline and 40 percent are bogus," the chief minister said.He read out a news report published in a paper about two sisters of Goan origin being murdered in Kuwait by their employer, which he said was a hoax."I asked Kuwait (embassy) and Interpol. I got a report saying it is bogus," Parrikar said.
