In a major step towards strengthening digital engagement with the country’s youth, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for the development of MY Bharat 2.0 platform in New Delhi today.

The upgraded national youth platform will leverage technology-driven solutions to empower and connect young people across the country. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Railways and Information & Broadcasting.

Following the signing of the MoU, the MY Bharat platform will now undergo a comprehensive upgrade to evolve into MY Bharat 2.0. This enhanced version will introduce new features aimed at improving user experience, accessibility, and functionality.

The platform will be completely rebuilt using a modular architecture approach to ensure scalability and flexibility. In addition, a fully functional mobile application for both Android and iOS will be developed.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Mandaviya stated, "Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi envisioned MY Bharat as one stop solution to empower youth with direction, purpose, and opportunity. MY Bharat 2.0 is a single-window digital ecosystem that aligns young citizens with career-building opportunities, skill development, and civic engagement, anchored in the spirit of Seva Bhav.

With more than 1.75 crore youth already onboard, this platform is not just a digital tool, it is a movement to align youth aspirations with the mission of Viksit Bharat by 2047. With MY Bharat 2.0, we are moving towards better integration, deeper collaboration, and a bold new direction to turn youth aspirations into the foundation of a Viksit Bharat."

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw said that youth are the leaders and nation builders. He stated that over the past 11 years, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has transformed multiple fields for the youth be it sports, technology, various institutions, or the education system.

The Minister also spoke about India’s decades-long aspiration in semiconductor manufacturing. He said that while efforts have been made since the 1960s, it is only now, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, that this vision is becoming a reality, with special emphasis on the involvement of youth in the process.

He noted that there has been a significant increase in confidence among youth after the launch of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM). Chipsets are now being designed by students in schools and colleges, and ISM-enabled platforms are already available in 240 universities across the country.

Shri Vaishnaw further added that under the India AI Mission, a common compute facility is being made accessible to students and researchers. With 34,000 GPUs already in place and 6,000 more to be onboarded soon, this initiative aims to provide the latest technological platforms to India's youth.

He also informed that Global Capability Centres are employing over 15 lakh youth in India, and a new framework is being developed to expand such opportunities to Tier-2 cities, ensuring inclusive technological growth.

“Seva Bhav, the spirit of service, is a great strength of Indian society, and MY Bharat integrates this ethos with technology. As we celebrate 10 years of Digital India this year, MY Bharat 2.0 will be an important milestone.

Integrating this youth-centric platform with the vision of Digital India will bring immense benefits to the youth and the nation,” said Shri Vaishnaw. Support functions such as a dedicated call centre, training modules, cloud services, MIS (Management Information System), and communication tools including email and SMS services will be established to strengthen the platform’s backend infrastructure.

Key AI-driven features will be introduced, including a Smart CV Builder, personalised Digital Profiles, and AI-powered chatbots. Speech-to-text capabilities and voice-assisted navigation will further improve usability and accessibility for all users.

Integrated dashboards will allow event-organising institutions and educational bodies to analyse and monitor outcomes effectively. Location intelligence and geo-tagging tools will help youth discover nearby opportunities based on geography or interest.

Additionally, interactive learning modules and quizzes will be included to increase engagement and foster continuous learning. MY Bharat 2.0 will also offer seamless integration with national digital platforms such as Aadhaar, DigiLocker, Bhashini, and MyGov, ensuring interoperability and a unified user experience.

The upgraded portal will comply with the latest data protection and privacy norms, ensuring a secure and trustworthy digital environment for all users. Further, the enhanced version of the platform will include dedicated sections for National Career Services, a Mentorship Hub, and a Fit India section to promote career growth, personal development, and health and wellness among youth.

These integrations will help realise the vision of MY Bharat as a comprehensive one-stop digital gateway for youth engagement and empowerment. The upgradation marks a strategic fusion of technology, governance, and youth energy, aiming to transform India’s demographic dividend into a developmental dividend.

MY Bharat 2.0 is set to play a crucial role in harnessing the potential of the Amrit Peedhi and advancing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. MY Bharat (https://mybharat.gov.in) is a dynamic technology platform conceptualized by the Department of Youth Affairs (DoYA) and developed by the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

It serves as an institutional framework to engage and mobilize the youth of India in a structured and meaningful manner. The platform was officially launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 31st October 2023. As of now, over 1.76 crore youth and more than 1.19 lakh organizations have registered on MY Bharat platform.

With the core objective of empowering youth through the Indian ethos of ‘Seva Bhav’ and ‘Kartavya Bodh’, the platform fosters a culture of purposeful youth engagement and civic responsibility by enabling young citizens to create digital profiles, participate in volunteering and learning opportunities, connect with mentors and peers, and contribute meaningfully to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

A variety of engagement initiatives, including Experiential Learning Programs (ELPs), are regularly hosted on the platform. The platform also offers dedicated web space to various Ministries, organizations, industries, youth clubs, and other stakeholders to host youth engagement initiatives, volunteering programs, and capacity-building activities.

Secretaries and other senior officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology were also present during the signing of MoU.
