Hitting back at Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi said that Warring's boastful claims about an assured victory in Ludhiana West reflect neither confidence nor strength, only delusion. Kalsi said that the truth is, Congress has lost its base, lost its credibility, and is now losing itself to internal warfare and desperation.

In a statement released to media, Shery Kalsi launched a scathing attack against Congress and said that the Ludhiana West by-election has exposed their deep infighting. The ongoing rift between Punjab Congress President Raja Warring and former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Congress's candidate for Ludhiana West By-election, has drained momentum from their campaign.

Ashu, once a powerful cabinet minister, has been systematically sidelined by Warring, who perceives him as a political threat. Warring has distanced himself from Ashu’s campaign trail, while their supporters openly clash behind the scenes.

As a result, disillusioned Congress workers are either defecting or choosing to sit out the by-election altogether, helplessly watching as their leadership undermines its own candidate. This is not a political strategy; it is political cannibalism.

Congress Has No Base Left, Only Baggage: Sherry Kalsi

Shery Kalsi said, “While Warring boasts of a ‘140 years of legacy,’ Punjab voters have 140 reasons to reject Congress. What people see today is a party decisively rejected in 2022, abandoned by its own leaders, and reduced to relying on recycled slogans.

Ravaged by infighting, backstabbing, and power-hungry factions, Congress is disconnected from reality, clinging stubbornly to outdated dynasties and worn-out narratives. It no longer represents the aspirations of modern Punjab—it has become a symbol of failure.”

Congress’s Abuse of Power Was Nothing Short of Criminal

Shery Kalsi condemned the Congress regime for its extreme and ruthless misuse of power, saying that the people of Punjab are still bearing the brunt of the damage caused to institutions, resources, and public trust. He highlighted how police and bureaucrats were turned into tools for personal vendettas rather than public service.

He pointed out that contracts were manipulated, funds embezzled, and public welfare schemes twisted into political slush funds.  Kalsi further exposed the widespread corruption during Congress rule, including food distribution scams, transport mafia patronage, and protection of liquor and sand cartels that crushed Punjab’s economy. Referring specifically to Bharat Bhushan Ashu’s tenure as Food & Civil Supplies Minister, he noted the allegations of massive grain procurement irregularities, which severely impacted farmers who were left with only peanuts in return.

Kalsi concluded that instead of serving the public, Congress leaders acted as power brokers, leaving ordinary Punjabis to suffer the consequences.

Warring’s Threats Reflect His Panic, Not Power: Shery Kalsi

Shery Kalsi criticized Raja Warring’s recent statement, saying that his bold claim—“We won’t forget, we won’t forgive, we won’t spare”—amounts to an open threat against public officials and reflects the outdated Congress culture of intimidation and fear. Kalsi emphasized that Punjab has changed, and the people are no longer intimidated; instead, they are angry and remember clearly who has caused their suffering.

The Voter Knows Better: Progress Over Petty Politics: Shery Kalsi

Shery Kalsi concluded that the people of Ludhiana West are far from fools and can clearly see the reality before them. He pointed out that Congress is a fractured party, desperately clinging to ghostly remnants of past glory, while its candidate and state president are openly distrustful of each other.

Kalsi said that Congress has left Punjab poorer, weaker, and disillusioned. In stark contrast, Punjab is now witnessing governance rooted in accountability and genuine development, not in dynastic politics and deception, and this is the government that people trust.
