Raj Kumar Mishra has been elected as the Mayor of Wellingborough Town Council after winning the councillor election from Victoria Ward on May 3 this year. His official appointment as Mayor took place during the annual meeting of the Council on May 13.
The Wellingborough Mayor came to the United Kingdom to pursue his higher education. He completed his Master’s degree in Advanced Computer Science with Industry (with Merit) from the University of Leicester. He mainly focused on service-oriented architecture, semantic web, regenerative development and more such important subjects during his studies.
The Wellingborough Mayor founded AI Consulting company SAM AI Solutions in 2023 equipped with dual registration - England and India. SAM AI Solutions offers a range of services to help small, medium and large-scale businesses to meet today's digital transformation demand with staff augmentation and project-oriented deliveries.
He is simultaneously working very closely with a couple of NGOs here in Mirzapur and specifically in the education sector. His chosen charities for 2025-26 are Veterans Community Network and Louisa Gregory’s Hospice Campaign.The Wellingborough Mayor said he has plans to build a tech lab in Mirzapur.
The lab is projected to give 1,000 engineering jobs to people in his hometown. He wants to create opportunities for youths in the tech industry.Raj also works with many NGOs in Mirzapur in fields like education. He has chosen to support two charities in 2025–26 - Veterans Community Network and Louisa Gregory’s Hospice Campaign.
The Wellingborough Mayor always has a believe that technology can solve real-world problems. He has been deeply involved in community work in both the countries.He joined the Conservative Party in March 2025 and thereafter decided to run for public office. He was chosen as the new Mayor of Wellingborough after winning the councillor election. Raj said that all credit goes to his wife who supported him throughout the campaign.
The Wellingborough Mayor holds an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card and represents the Indian community in the UK and worldwide as well. He follows Hindu values and strongly believes in karma and dharma. His primary manta is doing the right things in the right way.The journey of Raj is a great example of the way hard work, education as well as community service can create a positive impact for everyone.
