Vigilance Apprehends Pspcl Sdo Accepting Rs.40,000 As Bribe

The vigilance Bureau, Punjab has nabbed a SDO of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) red-handed with the bribe money of Rs 40,000.Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the bureau said that Sarabjit Singh, SDO, PSPCL posted at sub-pision-2, Bhogpur (Jalandhar) was nabbed on the complaint of Deep Kumar, Junior Engineer, sub-pision, Jaura Chhitran (Gurdaspur). The complainant alleged that the SDO was demanding Rs.50,000 from him for clearing some official document. Finally, the deal was struck at Rs.40,000.

Acting on the tip-off, a trap was laid by the team of Vigilance Bureau, Unit Jalandhar led by DSP Nirmaljit Singh and accused Sarabjit Singh was arrested red-handed, while accepting bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant. After the recovery of amount from him, a case under section 7 and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 has been registered against the SDO in the Police Station, Jalandhar Range.
