Heavy exchange of firing in Balakote sector

A fierce gun battle raged between infiltrators and army at Balakote sector inMendhar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir late Monday evening.Official sources told GNS that a group of 15-20 militants tried to sneak in this side near Pajni Nallah in Tikri area, the army’s 15 Bihar Regiment challenged them.“After being challenged, the group of intruders opened heavy fire on forces at around 8:30 pm”, they said, adding that the forces retaliated ensuing a gun fight that continued till 10:30.The extra contingent of forces rushed to area and they along with army’s 15 Bihar cordoned off the whole area, they said.
