Under Punjab Government's Mega Parent Teachers Meeting (PTM) initiative, PTMs were held on Saturday in more than 1700 schools of district including 490 secondary and more than 1200 primary schools. Joining the parents and teachers at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Birampur, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri in his address said that the Aam Aadmi Party Government had made phenomenal strides for the betterment of education system.
It was the vision of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to bring major reforms in Education and Health sectors, which are visible apparently, said Rouri adding that our schools are best ones having all requisite ultra modern facilities equivalent to top private schools. He also urged the parents to get their wards admitted in Government Schools to take advantage of quality education free of cost as well as getting other facilities.
While participating the PTM at Govt. Girls Senior Secondary Smart School, Tanda MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill thanked Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains for unprecedented development of schools across the state. He also mentioned that this school had got a grant of Rs. 53 lakh for further infrastructure and upgradation.
He said that Punjab Government had earmarked a budget of Rs. 18000 crore for education sector which would further bolster the existing system. Dasuya MLA Karamjit Singh Ghuman visited Government Elementary Schools Gaggar & Wadala and PM Shri Govt Secondary School Sector-1 Talwara and stated that the PTM endeavour of the state government was a big welcome step.
He said this platform provides healthy discussion amongst parents and teachers about the overall personality of students in terms of education performance, sports abilities and ECAs. He said that Punjab Government will handing over appointment letters to 2500 ETT teachers shortly of which around 700 are to be deputed in Hoshiarpur district.
The parents also thanked the Punjab Government for converting schools into world class ones. They expressed immense satisfaction that their children were not only getting free of cost quality education but also free books, dresses and educational tours.
Meanwhile, visiting different schools, District Education Officer Lalita Arora also appealed the people to enroll their children in government schools. She said that the facilities, services and quality of education is peerless in Government schools.
She mentioned that the students would get free preparation of competitive exams and other facilities.
