Speaker of Punjab Assembly Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal today strongly advocated the need to set up joint venture to promote tourism and food processing industry in Bulgaria as well as Punjab.Dr. Atwal expressed this desire during a meeting with a delegation from Bulgaria led by its Ambassador, who called on him at his office today at Punjab Vidhan Sabha.The visiting delegation had a round of Punjab Vidhan Sabha and collected the information pertaining to the working of Parliamentary process in the state assembly. Dr. Atwal apprised the delegation that Punjab is the leading agrarian state of the country. He said that there is ample of scope of tourism promotion and food processing industry in the state. The Speaker apprised delegation about policies and programs of Punjab Government for the welfare of people in the state.

Terming the visit as a memorable one, the Ambassador of Bulgaria Mr.Petko Doykov said that Bulgaria is keen to co-operate with others states of India to mutually benefit the industry and tourism sector. Mr. Petko Doykov said that Bulgaria would fully sport the India’s claim for the permanent membership of UNO as India was peace loving country.Dr. Atwal felicitated the visiting delegation with bouquets and mementoes.Prominent amongst those present in meeting included Mrs. Shashi LakhanPal Mishra, Secretary, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Anil Vij, Additional Secretary, Mr. Surinder Pal Singh, Secretary to Mr. Speaker, Mr. Jasbir Singh, coordinator and Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Under Secretary. The delogation of Bulgaria included Mr. Mariko Doykov, Ms. Kalina Doykova, Ms. Milena Nikolova, Mr. Javor Stoykov, Mrs. Maria Stoykova, Mr. Velentin Stoykov.
