Senior BJP leader and former Minister Priya Sethi termed the Union Budget presented by the Union Finance Minister a visionary document that lays the foundation for a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India).

She was speaking during the "Budget Pe Charcha" programme organised by Kashmir Displaced Distt  at the BJP District Office, Kacchi Chawani, Jammu, where party leaders, office bearers, and members of civil society gathered to discuss the key highlights of the Budget.

Addressing the gathering, Priya Sethi emphasized that India’s economy remains the fastest-growing among major global economies, a testament to the Modi Government’s decade-long commitment to development, structural reforms, and good governance.

She highlighted that the transformative work undertaken during the first two terms of the Modi Government has positioned India as a rising economic powerhouse, drawing significant global attention.

With renewed determination, the government is now advancing on the path to achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047. Priya Sethi underlined that the Union Budget prioritizes the holistic development of every section of society, focusing on four key pillars Garib (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmers), and Nari (women).

She praised the government’s consistent efforts to empower these groups through targeted welfare schemes, financial assistance, and economic reforms that ensure inclusive growth. Speaking on taxation benefits, Priya Sethi stated that democracy, demography, and demand are the three crucial pillars supporting India's journey towards becoming a developed nation.

She underscored the importance of the middle class in nation-building, asserting that the NDA government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always recognized their contributions and sought to ease their financial burden.

The former minister recalled that the 'Nil Tax' slab had been progressively increased from Rs 2.5 lakh in 2014 to Rs 5 lakh in 2019 and further to Rs 7 lakh in 2023. This year’s budget brings significant relief to taxpayers by ensuring that no income tax is payable up to Rs 12 lakh under the new tax regime, which translates to an exemption for individuals earning an average of Rs 1 lakh per month.

Additionally, salaried individuals will benefit from a standard deduction of Rs 75,000, effectively making incomes up to Rs 12.75 lakh tax-free. Priya Sethi lauded the Modi Government’s unwavering focus on economic reforms and welfare measures, stating that this Budget is yet another step towards realizing the dream of a prosperous and self-reliant India.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from party leaders,KDD members  and members of civil society. Prominent attendees included Rajeev Pandita, District President KDD; Hira Lal Bhat, Seh Prabhari KDD; H.K. Razdan, General Secretary; M.L. Bhat, General Secretary; Sweety Koul, Vice President; Anil Dhar, Vice President; along with all district office bearers, Mandal Presidents, booth-level workers, and citizens. The stage proceedings were efficiently managed by H.K. Razdan, District General Secretary KDD
