The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) on Saturday  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the District Administration  Bandipora, allocating Rs.1,55,67,000 under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the financial year 2024-25. 

The MoU aims to support four developmental projects in the district, focusing on healthcare, sanitation, and civic amenities. The Projects Funded Under CSR include Upgradation of Public Health Infrastructure, Procurement/Purchase of Water Tankers, Promotion of Sanitation, and upgradation of Public Health Infrastructure.

The MoU was signed by General Manager (Mech) N. K. Verma on behalf of NHPC and Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on behalf of the District Administration. Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Manzoor Ahmad Qadri said that the CSR initiative is aimed at promoting projects that address key areas such as education, healthcare, sanitation, rural development, skill development, and entrepreneurship to uplift the local community.

 Qadri stated that the amount provided under CSR will be utilized to upgrade civic amenities and implement impactful projects that enhance the social, economic, and environmental aspects of citizens' lives.

He said, this collaboration underscores NHPC’s commitment to sustainable development and its  role in improving the quality of life in the Bandipora district. Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Maqbool Lone, CMO Dr.Rafi Ahmad, ExEn Jal Shakti Mutayib Bashir, DIO Aadil Manzoor Wani.

Executive Officer MC Bandipora Ajaz Ahmad, and other concerned officers from District Administration and NHPC were present on the occasion.
