The grand first look and trailer of the upcoming web series Kandhaar - The Battle of Silk Route were unveiled at the prestigious Film Bazaar in Goa. This magnum opus, a historical drama set in the Himalayan ranges of 1390, explores themes of valor, betrayal, redemption, and justice. Written and directed by Shahid Kazmi, the series weaves a tale of courage, resilience, and leadership.
The First look launch event was attended by actress Ishita Raj , Director Shahid Kazmi, and costume designer Darshan Bhagwandas Kamwal. At the heart of this epic is Rajnandini, a fierce warrior princess of Lahora, played by the talented actress Ishita Raj. Ishita’s portrayal of Rajnandini is both powerful and poignant, embodying a woman who defies societal norms to become a revered leader.
Speaking at the launch, Ishita Raj shared her excitement: "Rajnandini is more than just a character for me; she is a symbol of courage and empowerment. Portraying her journey from warrior to diplomat, uniting her people, has been incredibly inspiring. As an actor this project is close to my heart, and I’m thrilled to present this magnificent story to audiences worldwide."

Set in the kingdom of Lahora, on the brink of destruction from internal betrayal and external invasions, Kandhaar follows Rajnandini as she leads her kingdom’s defense against an Afghan army led by Shershah Afghani (meer sarwar) and his son Masood Afghani (Samarth Jurel). Rajnandini and culminating in a poignant confrontation that emphasizes the futility of vengeance.
The series expertly blends historical grandeur with contemporary themes of empowerment, showcasing breathtaking battles, intricate storytelling, and a strong message of unity and wisdom. Kandhaar sets a new benchmark for period dramas in the digital space.
