The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, in collaboration with the Department of Industries (DoI), Chandigarh Administration, organised the Composite Awareness Workshop & Launch of RAMP in UT Chandigarh on 18th September 2024. The event was organised to raise awareness of various schemes of the Ministry of MSME and mobilize stakeholders to participate in implementing the comprehensive Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) under the RAMP Program.
Shri Vinamra Mishra, Director (GA&TP) and Ms Ankita Pandey, Director (IC&WEC) from the Ministry of MSME, GoI participated in the event and applauded the UT for being the first UT to receive assistance under the RAMP programme. Shri Vinamra Mishra emphasized the changing landscape of the MSME ecosystem and the Ministry’s initiatives for supporting MSMEs in redressing challenges such as access to market, credit, technology, greening, and sustainability of MSMEs.
Smt. Ankita Pandey addressed the august gathering and laid stress on the importance of the MSME ecosystem in the Indian economy and stated the contribution of Govt’s schemes and interventions like RAMP and Yashaswini in promoting the holistic growth and competitiveness of MSMEs, especially women.
The workshop generated awareness about the various sub-schemes, like MSME Green Investment and Financing for Transformation Scheme (MSME GIFT Scheme), MSE Scheme for Promotion and Investment in Circular Economy (MSE SPICE Scheme), MSE Scheme on ODR for Delayed Payments, MSME Trade Enablement and Marketing (TEAM) Initiative, Udyami Bharat Portal and other efforts supported under RAMP like TReDS and ESG etc.
The workshop also generated awareness about the existing schemes of the Ministry of MSME like the MSME Champions Scheme (ZED, Lean and MSME Innovative) and National SC/ST Hub Scheme etc. Smt. Hargunjit Kaur, Secretary Industries, Chandigarh, highlighted the significance of RAMP, stating, “Today’s event represents a transformative initiative in advancing the competence of our MSMEs.
By addressing critical issues and leveraging modern technologies, we wish to foster industries in recognition of their tremendous contribution to Chandigarh’s economic and demographic growth story.” Shri Paviter Singh, Director Industries, Chandigarh emphasised that “The Department of Industries is committed to strengthening industry practices and facilitating business growth of our manufacturing & services enterprises, and traders, through innovative programs and initiatives.
By offering valuable resources and strategic support, the Department envisions helping industries navigate challenges and achieve their goals”. The RAMP Launch event and Composite Awareness Workshop brought together key stakeholders including entrepreneurs representing MSMEs, members from a wide array of industry associations, educational institutions and financial institutions with a shared vision for making collaborative efforts to transform the MSME landscape in Chandigarh.
