To review the progress of Banks for the quarter ending June 2024, a District Consultative Committee Meeting was convened today by the Lead Bank Office, Punjab National Bank, SAS Nagar at District Administrative Complex, SAS Nagar which was chaired by ADC (UD) Mohali Damanjeet Singh Mann. This meeting was attended by District Coordinators of all Banks of the District and all the line departments.
Chief Lead District Manager, SAS Nagar M.K.Bhardwaj welcomed ADC(UD) Damanjeet Singh Mann, Pankaj Anand, DGM (Circle Head) Punjab National Bank, District Development Manager, NABARD Manish Gupta, LDO Reserve Bank of India Ms. Garima Bassi, State Director RSETI Upkar Singh, District Director RSETI Amandeep Singh, District Co-ordinators of banks and Govt. Officials of all line departments.
ADC (UD) Mohali Damanjeet Singh Mann appreciated the work done by banks in various parameters. He reviewed progress of all the banks for the quarter ending June 2024 under Annual Credit Plan 2024-25 and advised the Bankers to keep a proactive and sympathetic approach towards pending applications under all Govt Sponsored schemes.
He also advised that banks have to be friendly in dealing with Pm Vishvakarma beneficiaries in our district. M. K. Bhardwaj Chief LDM informed that the district has surpassed the ACP achievement in the first quarter. The Credit Deposit Ratio is more than 70 % against the national goal of 60%. Under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BimaYojna& Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema yojna good work has been done by banks.
Bhardwaj also urged the private sector banks to give special focus on social security schemes launched by Govt. of India. He added that there are many PM SVANidhi applications pending with banks which are to be disposed off by them immediately without any delay. Banks were also advised to clear all the new applications under PM SVANIdhi on regular basis.
Chief LDM Bhardwaj also put a special focus on the increasing number of cyber crime in Mohali. He requested all the bankers to make general public aware about how to save them from cyber crime. Work process of cyber crime helpline 1930 was also discussed in the house. Bank have to play an active role in reducing the number of cyber crime in our district.
Manish Gupta, District Development Manager NABARD apprised about the various subsidies in Govt sponsored schemes being provided by NABARD to uplift and encourage the public enagaged in self employment through these schemes. Mrs. Garima Bassi, Lead District Officer, Reserve Bank of India, said that all banks should put special efforts to cover all the left out accounts in Digitalization so that our District achieves 100% Digitalization.
She added that bank branches should ensure strict adherence to Reserve Bank of India guidelines. She instructed all the District Coordinators to ensure that every rural branch conducts minimum 5 financial literacy camps every month. She also discussed the functioning of CFL centres in Mohali district.
State Director RSETI Upkar Singh stated that a mission mode approach is required from banker fraternity in order to achieve District Targets and upliftment of needy and poor. He also requested all bankers to ensure clearing all the applications received through RSETI on top priority so that the maximum people who have received training can become self employed.
Pankaj Anand, DGM PNB also requested to all Banker fraternity to join hands for upliftment of rural poor by their Bank linkage, by providing them credit facilities and covering them under Social Security schemes. This is our primary responsibility to ensure social welfare. All the participants also took oath of “Swachhta hi Sewa“ a mission launched by Govt of India wef 17.09.2024 to 2.10.2024.
Chief LDM M.K.Bhardwaj assured the District Administration that Banks will put their best efforts for the smooth implementation of all the Govt. Schemes and shall achieve all the priority sector targets of the district in upcoming quarter.
