The Rotaract Club of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, organized its Installation Ceremony 2024-25, titled 'Prastavana.' The event was graced by District Council members Mr. Shashank Kaushik, Ms. Prerna Kashyap, Ms. Manu, and Mr. Rishabh, along with Chandigarh Central members, including Past President Rtn. B.S. Kapoor, Mr. Ankush Gupta, Mr. Sukhraj, and Mr. S.P. Ojha.
The ceremony commenced with a Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. A video showcasing the activities of the Rotary Club was also presented. DDR Rotarian Mr. Shashank Kaushik, along with his council members, pinned the incoming president of the PEC Rotaract Club, Mr. Himanshu Hooda.
In his opening remarks, newly elected President Himanshu Hooda reflected on the previous year’s activities and expressed his commitment to spreading awareness about the true essence of Rotary. He emphasized setting a legacy for future generations by undertaking impactful activities for the betterment of society.
Dr. Vibhor, Coordinator of the Rotaract Club, PEC, highlighted the importance of learning from the energy of young students, while also adhering to the discipline required by such an international organization. He pointed out that initiatives for the elderly, animals, placements, and more are carried out with a positive and healthy approach.
He remarked, "When you do good, it fosters a sense of purpose to give back to society." He also acknowledged the dedicated contribution of students working under centralized training and expressed his pride in being part of the team.
Mr. Shashank Kaushik, speaking on the theme 'The Magic of Rotary,' creatively connected it to the world of Harry Potter, remarking that "we are all wizards in creating the magic of Rotary." He encouraged students to embrace the positive mindset fostered by Rotaract's community projects, which help tackle depression, stress, and loneliness.
The event concluded on a celebratory note with the felicitation of all PEC Rotaract Club members and esteemed dignitaries.
