Elected members of Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis' Chairmen would elect Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of Zila Parishad till August 23. Disclosing this here today Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister, said that department has instructed all Deputy Commissioners to complete this process before August 23, 2013.
Mr. Rakhra said that newly elected members of Zila Parishad and concerned Panchayat Samitis' Chairmen have been authorized to elect Zila Parishads' Chairmen and Vice Chairmen. He said that this election would be completed by Deputy Commissioners or the officer who should not be below the rank of the Assistant Commissioner. The Minister said that this election would be done according to the reservation notification whose copy has been sent by the department to Deputy Commissioners.The Minister further said that department has directed the deputy commissioners to complete the whole election process by August 23 and send the names of elected Chairmen and Vice Chairmen to the department specific Performa so that their names could be notified.
