A crucial review session for Zonal and Sector Magistrates was chaired by the District Election Officer (DEO) Doda, Harvinder Singh, at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex. The meeting focused on preparing election officials for their roles in the upcoming J&K Assembly Elections 2024.
The session emphasized ensuring smooth coordination between officials and the administration to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the election process. During the meeting, DEO Harvinder Singh reviewed the responsibilities of the Zonal and Sector Magistrates, addressing any doubts or concerns regarding their duties.
Detailed discussions were held on the handling of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), polling station setups, and security arrangements. The DEO stressed the importance of effective communication among all officials to ensure prompt responses to any challenges on Election Day.
DEO Singh also provided guidance on following the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) guidelines and ensuring adherence to the Model Code of Conduct. Clear directives were issued on dealing with any unforeseen issues, with a special focus on maintaining law and order.
The officers were encouraged to remain vigilant and proactive in ensuring a free and fair election process. The session concluded with an open discussion, allowing magistrates to seek clarifications and receive practical solutions for any doubts related to their roles.
The DEO assured that further training and support would be provided as the Election Day approaches, ensuring all officials are fully prepared to execute their responsibilities with precision.
