The District Election Officer Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Monday conducted a comprehensive visit to Sumbal, Hajin, and various  other areas of Bandipora to inspect several key election-related facilities in the  District. The visit focused on special polling stations identified as Green, Pink, and Blue, as well as essential administrative locations including the RO office for 14-  Sonawari AC, DRDC, facilitation centre, Control room and the strong room.

During the visit, the DEO  evaluated the setup and operational readiness at the RO office in Sonawari, the DRDC and the strong room where sensitive election materials are stored. The DEO said that the visit was aimed  to ensure all aspects of the electoral process are fully prepared and secure, with a focus on providing a seamless and efficient voting experience for all. 

The DEO emphasized the importance of thorough preparation and stressed on  readiness of the facilities to handle the  elections effectively. During the visit, the DEO also inspected facilities at various polling stations including Green Polling station and Blue polling station established at Hr. Seccondary School Sumbal, Pink Polling Station Hr. Secondary School Hajin, Pink Polling Station Girls Hr. Secondary School Bandipora, and  Green Polling Station ITI Bandipora. 

The DEO reviewed the arrangements and facilities at each location, confirming that all necessary measures are in place to facilitate a smooth and orderly electoral process besides address any potential issues and ensure that all equipment, security protocols, and administrative procedures are functioning optimally.

While reviewing  the arrangements and infrastructure at  polling station to ensure they meet the required standards for a smooth and secure electoral process, the DEO emphasised proper setup, accessibility, and readiness of polling  stations to facilitate a seamless voting experience for all eligible voters as per ECI guidelines. 

Emphasising the plantation initiatives at Green Polling Stations, the DEO stressed the importance of environmental stewardship by mandating the initiation of plantation activities at the Green polling stations and directed  the concerned to plant 100 plants at each Green Polling Location ensuring that the Green polling stations not only facilitate a smooth voting experience but also promote green practices.
